In her work, the painter Ewa Szulkin depicts various details of architecture, clothing, furnishings, jewellery and figurative sculptures. The artist emphasizes the meticulous precision of workmanship of a bygone age, which nowadays usually passes unnoticed.
Born and bred in Bielsko-Biała, Ewa Szulkin (1974) is a garment maker by training. She develops her artistic skills in the Studio of Fine Arts at the Cooperative Community Centre "Best" in Bielsko-Biała. She has already achieved her first successes - in 2016 she received an award at the National Competition of Nonprofessional Painting organized by the Regional Cultural Centre in Bielsko-Biała.
The courses organised by the Studio of Fine Arts is attended by more than 20 amateur painters from Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding area. They form a group of individuals who want to use art as a tool to develop their personalities. This year, the studio celebrates its 15th anniversary. It has been headed from the beginning by Krzysztof Dadak Ph.D. - Assistant Professor in the Department of Painting at the Art Institute of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of Arts in Cieszyn.
The exhibition runs from 2 to 26 March 2017 (Club Cafe Aquarium).
